“The world taught me to shrink. Queerness taught me to expand.” — Alok Vaid-Menon

Many of us learn early that the world can’t hold us as we are. Over time, we learn to quiet or set aside parts of ourselves in order to find belonging and feel safe. In therapy, we welcome those parts— to author new stories and to imagine other ways of being. I aim to cultivate a transformative relationship that is warm, creative, and collaborative.

Gender Explorative Children and Youth

As a teacher turned therapist, my work in education shaped how I approach relationships with young people — with curiosity, connection, and an appreciation for the worlds they’re already building. I offer affirming therapy for children and youth who are exploring or questioning their gender. This is a space where they can bring their questions, their fears, their joy, and their growing sense of self — a space where they can grow into their own story without needing to fit someone else’s.

Parents and Caregivers

Research shows that one of the most powerful supports for 2SLGBTQIA+ children and youth is having caregivers who love and affirm them for who they are. At the same time, parenting a gender diverse child or youth can be profoundly challenging in a province where recent legislation has made it harder for young people and their families to feel safe and supported. I work with parents and caregivers to help them navigate the emotional, practical, and systemic realities of showing up for their kids with courage, care, and clarity.

2SLGBTQIA+ Individuals

Many queer and trans people hold stories that have been layered with expectations, silences, and distortions that were never theirs to begin with. In therapy, we gently untangle what is truly yours from what the world has tried to place upon you, making space to reconnect with your own truths, agency, and expansive ways of being.

Queer Couples and Families

I am also passionate about supporting queer couples and families navigating relationships, family building, fertility, and parenting. My approach is grounded in care and appreciation for the many ways queer families grow and thrive outside of cisheteronormative expectations.

If you’re looking for a therapist who will meet you with warmth, curiosity, and a commitment to affirming care, I’d be honoured to connect with you. Don’t hesitate to reach out for a free 15-minute phone consultation. Please note I offer in-person and virtual therapy. I am also a strong believer in the healing power of nature and am available for walk & talk therapy.

More about Me

I am a white, able-bodied, queer and genderqueer settler living on the traditional gathering place of the Cree, Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Iroquois, Dene, Ojibway/Saulteaux/Anishinaabe, Inuit, and more. Foundational to my sense of self, both personally and professionally, is a lifelong commitment to anti-colonialist and anti-oppressive ways of being.

Outside of therapy, I enjoy walking outdoors with my kids, playing board games with my partner, and losing myself in a good non-fiction book. I'm passionate about learning about different cultures and ways of being and have had the privilege of living in Korea, Tanzania, and the United Arab Emirates —  experiences that shape my work as a therapist, where I aim to meet people with cultural humility, openness, and care. I’m also the director and producer of the documentary “What are you having?”, which explores the topic of gender creative parenting.
