Accepting new clients for couples and poly relationship counselling

We are all relational beings in a world that increasingly deprioritizes true connection. I believe that we heal and grow in relationships but that sometimes past experiences, current challenges, and societal expectations get in the way of being truly seen and heard. I can help you find your way to relational well-being through an understanding of attachment patterns and effective communication skills.

I am passionate about supporting people in relationships that don’t quite fit into traditional societal norms, especially 2SLGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, and polyamorous folks. As a member of the queer community, I recognize how societal pressure and experiences of oppression can present challenges for optimal relational functioning. I am also interested in supporting clients to manage the impacts of developmental trauma and/or sexual abuse/assault in their relationships based on my experience providing individual trauma therapy in a non-profit setting.

The main approach I use in my practice is Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I may also integrate other approaches and perspectives including but not limited to feminist, trauma-informed, person-centred, anti-oppressive, values-based, narrative, parts, somatic-based therapies, and elements of the Gottman Method. With me as your therapist you can expect a warm, empathetic, insightful, and honest manner. I am committed to constant learning and unlearning in all areas of my practice, including anti-racism, decolonization, intersectionality, polyamory, neurodiversity, kink, sex work, and body liberation.

Outside of the office I enjoy spending time with my dog and two cats, my partner, and navigating life as a busy new parent. I have a consistent yoga practice, like to go bouldering, and am working on getting into running.
